Every day I walk into the office, the conversations range from the various topics one would hear this time of year. That would be of course football, baseball, and who's working their days off. Mostly in that order to. During the week as the heat blisters us each day, and the Postal Service shows us the videos on why we are going broke etc, then the conversation turns to, "what is the NALC doing about it"?

It is these SAME people who has not contributed to COLCPE. Those who DO contribute are wise and smart to KNOW what the NALC IS doing about this propaganda the PMG is putting on the air waves.

While the younger carriers and PTF'S have concerns about the 6 day work week staying in tac, THEY do not contribute either. This is a real concern that I have.

Let's look at the facts. Governor Rick Perry who wants to become the next President may be in fact the most anti-labor, unfriendly to Unions than anyone before he, and that includes Ronald Reagan. He says that Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid are unconstitutional, not to mention he wants to get rid of the Labor Board, and ELIMINATE the minimum wage. If you recall, it was Ted Kennedy who fought for years to raise the minimum rage just so that mothers make money to keep up with inflation.

While negotiations are in process, I believe in the end we will go to Arbitration when all said and done. When the PMG wants to control the health benefits and remove the NALC from the plan, that should tell one, why now, more than ever, we need all to get on board NOW and stop this lunatic. The Service can't even make a schedule out for the holidays each time it comes around, so why would we expect the PMG to over see the health Benefits?

Respectfully Submitted,
