QUARTERLY REPORT
Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
first of all, I would like to thank the convention delegates for
your vote of confidence by electing me as your District 2 Board
Member of the Texas State Association of Letter Carriers. As
your District 2 Board Member, I plan to keep all the members of
District II informed on the current legislative issues that are
affecting letter carriers and the Postal Service as a whole.
Brothers and Sisters, we can no
longer sit on the side line, we must get in the game and do
everything we can to help save our jobs and benefits. During
the Convention, the delegates present had an opportunity to sign
up as an automatic contributor to COLCPE. I am encouraging
every letter carrier to sign for payroll deduction for COLCPE
and become an E-Activist.
Also during the convention, our
newly appointed President, Fred Rolando, encouraged delegates to
consider enrolling in the plan during Open Season. That is one
of the easiest ways that we can begin to save our jobs. I
personally, in my capacity as the District Board Member, began
delivering the message about the importance of enrolling in the
NALC Health Benefit Plan at the Garland Branch 3993 general
membership meeting.
With the amendment attached to
S1507 that would affect the collective bargaining during
contract arbitration. I am encouraging each and every one to
sign up for COLCPE and tell a friend because there is POWER
in numbers. In closing I would like to express my
congratulations to all of the elected officers of the TSALC.
Please feel free to contact me regarding any concerns at my
e-mail and phone number below.
