LET’S  STICK  TOGETHER       BEFORE  IT  IS  TO  LATE !!!!!!!!

Ok people you may not like some of the things I am going to say in this report but I am going tell you just how it is. We need each of you to get on board to save your job, your retirement, and the USPS. Our very own Post Master General, his people and several Congressmen and Senators are out to destroy our jobs as letter carriers. If they get their way it will destroy the USPS as we currently know it. Some things you can do is read your NALC Postal Record, go to our NALC website or the tsalc website, and watch TV etc. and you will see they are after our jobs and our benefits. They want to take away our collective bargaining rights and honestly they want us to be non full time employees so they will not have to give us a 40 hour work, sick leave, annual leave, health benefits and so on. They want to take away a day of delivery and there is no guarantee it will Saturday and then take away another day and then another day until we will only be delivering the mail three days a week. I could go on and on about all the damage these people want to do to us as letter carriers and to the USPS. I ask each of you to please do your homework and get on board to save your job. Please take one minute to think about what the NALC has gotten for you through the years. Think about how you are currently able to pay your bills and take care of yourself and your family. If these people succeed you will NOT be able to continue as you are today. With this being said I ask that you please do some of the following. Sign up to be an NALC-E-ACTIVIST as this is easy to do. Give to COLCPE as this will help save your job. Both of these things can be done by going to our NALC website at nalc.org. You may also contact me and I will be glad to get you signed up. We need you to please contact your Congressman (by phone, e-mail, and a hard copy - by mail) and ask them to please support and co-sponsor H R 1351 and to support H RES 137. You can add please keep 6 day delivery. This is easy and will not take much of your time. If they have any questions you can not answer please take their name and number and get in touch with me or Micky Morris your TSALC State President and we will gladly follow up. I hope each of you will take the time to do this and it would be nice if you could get some of you fellow co-workers to do the same. I know you hear this from me all the time but I am telling you this is serious. Thanks for your help and if I may be of any help please contact me.

Now I would like to mention we do have a lot of good NALC Brothers and Sisters out there doing an awesome job with these issues. I can not mention each and every one of you here but I will mention a few. Your State President Micky Morris and V-P Brad Ramey have been busy and are doing and awesome job. Your fellow Brothers and Sisters in El Paso have done an awesome job as their Congressman Mr. S. Reyes has signed on to H R 1351. Way to go El Paso. Down in Austin they have their people on board to as L Dogget has signed on to H R 1351. Great job to Emory Edwards, Les Doss, Bennie Lloyd, Jim Buchanan and others. Good job to  Eddie, Nicki, Hector, Mike, Kathy and the NBA Office as well. There are many of you out there doing an awesome job and I would like to personally THANK YOU and I wish I could name each of you. Please keep up the good work.

I look forward to seeing you at the NBA School next month and anywhere in between.

God Bless

Ronnie Eudy  District  4

GREETINGS  TO  EVERYONE  !!!!!!!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?  With this being said what do think about all of the changes within the USPS? Just to let you know the changes have just begun. I know we will not like all of the changes but we need to look at what the USPS is doing and why they are making the changes. Let’s look at the change of moving city and rural carriers to one office. I know things may look like it is wrong to do so but one must look at the money spent to the money that will be saved. Service at these units will not change. One thing that will change is the loosing office Post Master will be down graded and the loosing Post Master will now have to work the window and box mail. I say it’s about time a lot of these postal employees finally start working like letter carriers have since day one. Several management positions are being done away with. I could go on and on but keep your eyes and ears open as there will be many more changes coming.

If any of our members have a child that is a Senior in High School and plan on attending College your time is running short. The dead line for applications is upon us. Please come to your Branch Meeting for information on several Scholarships.

Let me state we need all city carriers to learn their rights. One being the way to handle accountable items. You sign for accountable items then you need to know the correct procedures. You need to take your time and think about what is going on. If you follow the correct procedures management is going to find it very difficult to hold you liable for missing accountable items. If by chance you do it the wrong way then what? Second the issues about certain supervisors standing at the time clock and making you sign a 3971 for being as they call it one click late. Third management is attempting to tighten the screws on attendance issues. Any attendance policies they implement must comply with National Agreement Article 10, Employee and Labor Relations Manual (ELM) Section 510, and our Local Memorandum of Understanding (LMOU). These contract provisions cover leave. Your Stewards do our best to enforce leave provisions in accordance with contract language. Employees benefit by learning our rights and responsibilities regarding leave provisions. You need to know your rights and know how to handle these types of situations. These are just a few issues we will discuss at our March Branch Meeting.

Now most of you have seen or heard about the issues going on in Wisconsin. Let me state this is serious as many other States will be addressing the same issues soon. These issues concern working people from many different jobs. Some being School Teachers, Correctional Officers, State Employees, Firefighters, and yes even City Employees. I know some of you may say some of those employees get too much. Well I am sure some of those employees may say we Letter Carriers get to much. What really hurts us is that Congress and the Senate will decide what we get or what we do not get. Yes we could get into contracts talk bet please remember what is going on they want to TAKE AWAY COLLECTIVE BARGAINING. If this happens to the employees I have mentioned and to others what do you think is going to happen to YOU and ME? We all need to wake up and get involved. I will keep this simple sign up for COLCPE and to become an NALC E-ACTIVIST. I ask each of you to educate yourself on these issues before it is too late. We will discuss these issues at our March Branch Meeting.

Our March Branch Meeting will be as all of our Branch Meetings are; they are for you the members of this Branch. Come on out and learn things that will benefit you and your fellow Brothers and Sisters. At your February Branch Meeting Mr. Mike Aguilar won the $20 door prize. My Dad Mr. Bill Eudy would have won the big door prize of $130 but he was not present as he was in the Hospital at Abilene Regional. Dad sorry you missed the money but I am so glad your doing better. Hope to see more of you at our March Branch Meeting so we can share information and learn together. Hope to see you Tuesday March 15th 7.00pm at 1717 Butternut.

GOD BLESS
